Projected DOS (PDOS)
Projected DOS (PDOS) breaks the total density of states down by atomic species and orbital angular momentum. It is useful for understanding which atoms and orbitals contribute to features near the Fermi level.
Importing a PDOS file
Pull or auto-import a SIESTA PDOS output file from your cluster. The studio detects the file type automatically.
Reading the plot
- Each trace corresponds to a species/orbital combination (e.g. Si s, Si p, O p).
- Traces can be toggled on or off from the legend.
- The Fermi energy is shown as a dashed vertical line.
Customizing the view
- Adjust the energy window with the range sliders.
- Group traces by element or by orbital type using the display options.
- Export the plot as an image with the toolbar button.
