DOS and band structure
SiestaStudio can plot the electronic density of states (DOS) and band structure from standard SIESTA output files. Both can be shown separately or overlaid in a combined Band+DOS view.
Band structure
Import a .bands file from a completed SIESTA band-structure run. The plot
shows energy (eV) on the y-axis and the k-path on the x-axis. High-symmetry
point labels are read from the file or can be edited in the panel.
Controls:
- Drag the Fermi energy line to adjust the zero reference.
- Toggle spin channels (for spin-polarized calculations).
- Set the energy window with the range sliders.
Density of states
Import a .DOS file. The total DOS is plotted as a curve. You can overlay the
Fermi energy line and adjust the energy window.
Combined Band+DOS view
When you have both a .bands and a .DOS file for the same calculation, use
the Combined tab to display the band structure and DOS side by side with a
shared energy axis.
